My team of two created this structure as a pop-up shelter for the class “The World is Flat”. The class examined flat stock and the ways we cut, shape, and bend them into not-so-flat buildings. Here, 8 foot long columns occupied only their 3/4″ plywood sections by cutting/kerfing them lengthwise and rolling them into structural members. My partner and I were surprised at the strength of these columns when locked in place.
