UVA RIVANNA RIVER

Inspired by the peculiar form of Patkau Architects Montreal library and the observation tower on the River Mur, my partner and I designed an intervention that stretched from Martha Jefferson Hospital to the Rivanna River. This design sought to connect building with nature using naturally inspired forms and borrowed views. The white, taffy-like object was algorithmically designed and structurally tested to be built using UHPC concrete and an origami-like formwork.
